Chapter 16: A Trip of Recognition

In chapter 16 Ursula flies to New York with her mother and sister to watch a dance-performance. There she starts to figure out that she is having feelings for Matt as she gets a rapid heartbeat when she is seeing a guy, who looks similar to Matt, skating in New York with an other girl. Additionally she is thinking of saying "Hey. I'm your friend. Ursula Riggs. Me." to him. This is the first time Ursula is making steps to a friendship with Matt, which is suitable to the changes of Matt's behavior, which are steps to a friendship with Ursula.

Furthermore we learn some things about Ursula's past, what we can use to analyse her current behavior. When she was in the swim team as young girl, she liked it very much until she heard that she was getting "big" (which has the meaning of tall or fat) and looked into the mirror to see her fattish body. She was shocked. So much so that she quitted the swim team, because this way nobody can see her body in tight swim suits again. Afterwards she was trying to hide her body in sport uniforms, which doesn't accent critical body regions.
