Chapter 49: The End

Matt and Ursula know each other over 3 months now. Things were difficult in the beginning and later, love turned things to the better side. All the problems like the bomb threat, the dognapping and family disasters are solved and weld the couple.

Some maybe think that as the book ends now this is "The End". But for Big Mouth and Ugly Girl the adventure of love just began - with a kiss.

Chapter 48: The society looks at you - superficial.

Matt Donaghy is no longer "a ghost" in Rocky River High School, he is accepted again. Communication with him is no longer damaging the reputation.

This chapter shows how "real" his friends are (or better: how "unreal" they are). All the trouble is over and people are recognizing him as Matt Donaghy, the nice and friendly pupil, again. Ursula is elucidating what's happening. All the pupil are teached by their parents, teached to live with the pursuit of reputation. - They are educated to be phony.

At the top of that Matt is ordering his priorities. When some classmates ask him to come to their party, Matt only wants to go when Ursula is allowed to come with him. This shows that Matt is doing a great job as the male side of the relationship between Ursula and him.

Chapter 47: "[...] and the mask fell off [...]" (p. 242, l. 14 - The metropolitan)

Put Ursula in a mixture of relieve, joy and love. Wait some weeks and the soft inside will turn out. After that you can watch how happy the new Ursula is feeling after taking a try of this reciept.

Change - this is the way Ursula fortifies her happyness. She even cuts her hair, which can be seen as the graphically demonstration, the drop of her mask "Ugly Girl" as the characteristically demonstration of all the things that changed to and in Ursula. Additionally a new warm, lovely atmosphere is developing, which drowns the old thronging, uncomfortable and gloomy atmosphere out. But as this can't happen through a single chapter, the auther is trying to create the new atmosphere since chapter 43.

Chapter 46: A Summary of Actions

In chapter 46 all the things that happend in the last days are described newspaper-like.

1) Reverend Brewer called the school, which lead to the fire alarm
2) Reverend Brewer is arrested and has to pay $500.000
3) Mr. and Mrs. Donaghy no longer sue the school
[This is not listed as newspaper-like as the first three points:]
4) Ursula is happy about how things turned out

Chapter 45: (Not) Another Bomb Threat!

At Rocky River Highschool things seem to repeat. Fire alarms are ringing, another bomb threat! And - how hard to guess - Matt Donaghy come under suspicion. But this time traces are different. There was a phone call from somebody that doesn't seem to be Matt Donaghy while he is pretending it. In the progress of investigations the real caller is found: Reverend Brewer!

This chapter closes the book: "Matt running amok!". Matt is relieved from suspicion now. He has a free hand* for normal life again.

Chapter 44: Beautiful World

This chapter is showing how the world of Ursula became so beautiful like the song is of Colin Hay is describing it (-> Hear it! <-). Matt is writing her "I love you!", Ms. Schultz is wanting her in back in the baseball team and her mom, her dad and her sister is having a good relationship with her again. So that after all, out of sheer joy, Ursula has to break out in tears.
