Chapter 14: Happy Nothing-Day!

This chapter is one of the most important chapters until now. If you have a textmarker, underline the chapter ... twice. In chapter 14 the ability of a round character - to change his behavior - is used: Matt becomes Big Mouth, like Ursula became Ugly Girl or Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader. Matt's depression, he built up during the last chapters (e.g. Chapter 13), changed his character massively. The funny guy with his philosophy of living in a perfect world with lot of gentle friends turned to a sharp-tangued young man, who is seeing the world in a more pessimistic way. But for now his new behavior is very dynamic as it only exists since a few days. The next chapters will decide whether his stoned heart will stay and get nearly unbreakable or he can turn around and get his old manners back. Important to be noticed is that at this moment Matt is able to get closer to Ursula, because their characters fit each other's now. The foundations of a friendship between Big Mouth and Ugly Girl are set.

These quotations underline my analysis:
"My heart is a stone. I can feel it hardening"
"My heart is a stone ... it won't be broken again."

And at least, to show the similarities between new Matt and Ursula you can use both: their thoughts and actions. If you compare their thoughts, you should take a look at these two quotations: "My heart is a stone ... it won't be broken again." (Matt) and "But when you like people, you can be hurt. I made a few mistakes [...] and I wouldn't make these mistakes again." (Ursula). And when you take a look at their actions, you'll see that they both quited some kind of regulary activites that would chain them into the society, as they want to be free of obligation.
