Chapter 5: Freedom of Speech

In chapter 5 Matt Donaghy is going through an agonizing time. The rumor bomb takes effect. A small joke becomes noticed, the notice becomes a rumor, the rumor becomes a semi-truth, the semi-truth becomes disastrous. Like I explained in "Chapter 1: Mistaken Identity" we all could prevent such things from happening like they did to Matt. However, let's check out chapter 5 to see what Matt is thinking about beeing hit by the rumor bomb, which is actually saying that Matt is planning to plant a real bomb. When we now classify him according to his thoughts, written down in chapter 5, we recognize that Matt is decreasing his insecurity during this chapter. As he has no idea in the beginning why people would say that he like to kill as many people as possible from Rocky River High School, but already remind a situation, in which he was making a joke about planting a bomb, in the end of the chapter.
